Sheikh Hasina seeks FBI help to probe Mutiny, IAF Planes on stand-by

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sought American Intelligence agency FBI's help to probe the mutiny at the BDR Headquarters, which killed at least 150 people including over 100 Army officers.

As the conspiracy deepens further with startling revelations coming during the preliminary investigations, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina believes that the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) will be able to unravel the mystery behind the unprecedented mutiny.

The government has also announced to set a up a special tribunal to try the rebel soldiers. The Bangladesh Police has charged more than 1,000 BDR soldiers with murder and arson. However, sources believe that only 50 - 100 of them were actually involved in the bloody massacre. Others reportedly left the barracks when the mutiny broke out.

India has put its IAF planes IL-76 and AN-32 on stand-by to assist the Bangladesh government, if required. Both India and Bangladesh sees the mutiny as a pre-planned and a conspiracy to destabilise the democratically elected government in Bangladesh by creating divide within the Bangladeshi Army.
