New Zealand end India's supremacy in Twenty20 Cricket with Series Win

New Zealand virtually ended World Champion India's supremacy in Twenty20 cricket with a 2-0 series win over the visitors. Chasing a victory target of 150, New Zealand played excellent cricket and thwarted a spirited performance by Indian bowlers and fielders to win the match by 5 wickets off the last ball.

Brendon McCullum yet again played the anchor role and led from the front to remain unbeaten on 69. He single-handedly won the match for New Zealand. Ryder and Taylor contributed 26 and 27 respectively.

New Zealand needed 9 runs from the last three deliveries. McCullum brought the score to level by hitting two boundaries in a row. He misjudged the ball off the last delivery and it could have been a catch. But Rohit Sharma failed to reach the ball and dashed Indian hopes of holding New Zealand to a tie.

New Zealand reached 149/6 in 20 overs and won the series 2-0. For India, Pathan took two wickets. Brendon McCullum was declared "Man of the Match" and "Man of the Series".
